Senior right-hander Grant Magnuson pitched a complete game with five strikeouts to power Coast Union High’s baseball team to a 6-1 road win over Dunn in the quarterfinals of the CIF-Southern Section Division 7 playoffs.

Magnuson scattered seven hits and walked one. He also had an RBI double during a four-run first inning for the Broncos, who improved to 19-4.

“Grant had good control today,” Coast Union coach Brian Machado said. “We played good defense behind him, and he was on today.”

Lane Sutherland went 2 for 4 with three RBI for the Broncos, and teammates Quinten Raethke and Sergio Mendoza added two hits each.

Coast Union will play Riverside Prep or Santa Clarita Christian in the semifinals Tuesday, with the location to be determined. The title game is set for June 7 at UC Riverside.
