The proposed 900-acre Pismo Preserve offers breathtaking views.

I’d like to thank each of the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors for their wise leadership and support of the Pismo Preserve.

Along with all of the hardworking and skilled people at the Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County and each of the very generous individuals and businesses who have already donated, the supervisors have taken a giant step forward in the creation of what is nothing less than a new Montaña de Oro State Park in Pismo Beach.

While not technically a state park, the Pismo Preserve, like Montaña de Oro, will be open from dawn to dusk 365 days a year; will have many trails for walking, hiking and riding; will have endless ocean views; and will be a treasure and an asset to everyone for decades to come.

Like the visionary county residents who got together in 1965 to save Montaña de Oro, we can, over the next month, save and create the Pismo Preserve.

Contact the Pismo Beach City Council at www.pismobeach.org and ask them to match the county’s support and donate to the conservancy at www.lcslo.org.

Together, we can do it!
