Voter guide misleads

NipomoMay 27, 2014

I, and I assume many voters in southern San Luis Obispo County last week, received several voter guides. In particular, I was struck by the “voter guide slate card,” which presented a Democratic Voter Guide. Interesting that one of the District 4 supervisory candidates, who is proud to be endorsed by the California Republican Assembly, was in the pool of Democratic candidates, implying Democratic party support and endorsement.

I was pleased to receive this. It is often difficult to assess the ethics of candidates and/or candidate supporters. I am sure this is legal, and there is a “Notice To Voters” on the guide, but this is deceit and deception. It clearly spotlights and presents us with a picture of the ethics of the candidate and/or candidate supporters. As my mother might state after receiving and viewing this — shame, shame.
