Cal Poly baseball signee Erich Uelmen pitched a three-hitter with one walk and 12 strikeouts to lead Las Vegas Faith Lutheran High to a 9-2 win over Churchill County in the Nevada Division I-A state title game Saturday in Reno, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Uelmen, a right-hander, allowed one earned run. He escaped a second-inning jam to help the Crusaders repeat as Nevada I-A state champions.

“It was awesome because we had a senior-heavy team,” Uelmen told the Review-Journal. “We were just really excited to have another shot at it, and we didn’t want to let it slip.

“We’re really proud to wear the Faith uniform. And it was a good way to end putting it on for the last time.”
