Paso Robles man suspected of breaking into vehicle, stealing tools

A Paso Robles man was arrested Monday morning after police allegedly found him in possession of tools stolen from a vehicle.

Robert Cardoza, 32, was arrested at approximately 11 a.m. Monday after residents on the 1700 block of Wade Drive reported seeing a man breaking into a parked vehicle.

According to the Paso Robles Police Department, officers located Cardoza as he was attempting to leave the scene in his vehicle. They conducted a traffic stop and allegedly found Cardoza in possession of tools and other items stolen from the victim’s vehicle.

He was taken to San Luis Obispo County Jail and booked on suspicion of possessing stolen property, a felony, as well as two misdemeanor charges of petty theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cardoza was no longer in custody as of Tuesday afternoon, according to jail logs.
