Improve services

San Luis ObispoMay 20, 2014

I have been an advocate for improved mental health services for decades. I served on the Mental Health Advisory Board for seven years, and became an avid supporter of Transitions Mental Health Association’s services.

Many of the mentally ill in our community are homeless. Without the stability of housing and access to support services, especially medication, their prognosis is poor. One of the San Luis Obispo City Council’s goals is to house the mentally afflicted in our city.

I support the council and TMHA’s laudable goals to provide housing in Sunny Acres, the old brick building on the hill behind the former general hospital.
