A woman was killed in a single-car traffic accident in Paso Robles early Friday.

While traveling south on Spring Street, the driver hit at least one parked vehicle for unknown reasons, according to a news release from the Paso Robles Police Department. Then the vehicle struck a curb and rolled onto its driver's side, fatally injuring the driver.

A Paso Robles police officer discovered the wrecked vehicle at the intersection of Third and Spring streets around 1:15 a.m. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were no passengers involved or other people injured in the incident, police said.

The driver is not being identified until her next of kin have been notified. Police do not yet know whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision.

Paso Robles police plan to conduct a follow-up investigation with coroner investigators from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information regarding the collision is asked to call the Paso Robles Police Department at 805-237-6464.
