The public is invited to a fundraiser in Santa Margarita on Saturday to help children with illnesses and cancer.
The lunch event is being organized by a local family who recently received help from local nonprofit group Jacks Helping Hand when their toddler got sick from the E. coli virus, according to a news release.
The event, called A Day at the Park Barbecue, will benefit the organizations Camp Reach for the Stars program, which promises to give ill children a fun weekend to build friendships and enjoy childhood again, the news release says.
The fundraiser will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Santa Margarita Park at Estrada Avenue and H Street. It will feature tri-tip, adult and family beverages for purchase, to-go meals, activities and a bounce house. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children.
