What it takes

Arroyo GrandeMay 16, 2014

I am writing to express my strong support of Mike Byrd for 4th District supervisor. As a leader in several local, good-government community and nonprofit organizations over the past 24 years, I have often worked with elected officials. I know what it takes to be a good public servant.

Byrd is a local small businessman who has provided dozens of jobs to SLO County residents. He has extensive experience mediating between opposing factions, resulting in mutually agreeable decisions. He is an exceptionally ethical person. A natural leader, his peers have repeatedly elected him to positions of leadership.

Early in his career he was an assistant to a Kern County supervisor for eight years, responsible for working on the county budget among other things.

He co-founded Friends of Price House and Junior Achievement of SLO County. He served as a director of Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and today continues to volunteer his services to community groups.

Byrd has the personal traits, the community commitment and the professional experience necessary to provide us with honest, intelligent and respectful representation in the 4th District. He will work for all of us. Please join me, and vote for Mike Byrd for 4th District supervisor.
