A Monterey man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly stealing camera equipment out of a KSBY vehicle at the Pismo Beach Pier.

Officers were called to the pier at 6:27 p.m. in response to the theft, according to a news release from the Pismo Beach Police Department. A KSBY employee reportedly confronted the man, who dropped the equipment and drove away from the pier parking lot. A vehicle description was radioed to responding officers, who were able to stop the vehicle one block away.

Arrested was Vinil Patel, 44. He was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail, where bail was set at $20,000.
