Special to The TribuneMay 15, 2014

Lynne Schmitz

On Friday night at 7 p.m., the St. Petersburg Men’s Ensemble, a world-famous Russian quartet, will present an a cappella concert at Mission San Miguel. The program features Russian Orthodox liturgical music and folk songs of the country in the wonderfully resonant Mission chapel. A goodwill offering of $15 is suggested, and there will be CDs and DVDs for purchase. This is the only performance the musicians will give in San Luis Obispo County.

Help keep San Miguel beautiful

On Saturday morning at 8:30, gardening enthusiasts are welcome to gather at the Coffee Station to spruce up the downtown landscape. Please bring your own gloves and tools, meet new friends and help keep San Miguel beautiful by weeding, pruning and cleaning up.

Pioneer families to be honored at adobe

On Sunday, May 25, the annual memorial service at the Estrella Adobe on Airport Road will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., hosted by the Friends of the Adobes and the Questers.

The invocation and sermon will be delivered by the Rev. Amy Beveridge of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Templeton. Organist will be Cactus Harris.

The service honors pioneer families who settled this area and will be dedicated to Henrietta Brown Tognazzini. There will be stories from descendants of the pioneers. After the service, enjoy refreshments and visiting.
