The Coast Union softball team collected a dozen hits against the Orcutt Academy Spartans on Friday, May 2, but it wasn’t enough as the Spartans tallied 15 hits and outscored the Lady Broncos, 11-7.

But because the loss on Friday was a non-league game, Coast Union remains unbeaten in the Coast Valley League with a 6-0 record.

In the loss to Orcutt, Maddie May had a single and a two-run triple; Cristina Plasencia added three hits and scored three runs; and Ashley Martinez went three for four with a double.
