Connecting lakes

Paso RoblesMay 8, 2014

Seeing the recent articles about water savings ideas in The Tribune made me think of a subject I remember from years past.

There used to be talk about building a connector tunnel between Nacimiento and San Antonio lakes that would be used to transfer the extra water over from Nacimiento to San Antonio.

It has not come up for many years. It was done in Santa Barbara with two of the lakes there, but maybe it’s not practical in our situation?

I know that there is a tremendous amount of water that passes through Nacimiento even in normal rain years, that could be held in San Antonio and then moved back to be used here. Perhaps there is someone that can address this?
