‘Pussycats’ to start hanging out biweekly on Saturdays at ‘The Owl’

Special to The CambrianMay 2, 2014

Rhys and Bambi enjoy a quiet moment together.

The Homeless Animal Rescue Team invites you to join us for some summer fun:

  • “The Owl and the Pussycat.” Join us for HART’s “The Owl and the Pussycat” events. Celebrate with coffee and a barbecue at “The Wise Owl,” 2164 Center St., starting Saturday, June 7. Enjoy live music, barbecue and HART’s cats every other Saturday. Meet some of HART’s kitties that are looking for their forever home. Watch for further information later in May. The “Owl” and the “pussycats” hope to see you there.
  • “9 lives for $9.” Do you like treasure hunts? Come to HART and find a real treasure. They come in many colors: black, white, brown, orange, buff, striped and with dots. You can find a treasure that loves to curl up in your lap, or climb a cat tree, play chase with a toy, sit in a box or observe you from afar to see if you are The One — the one they have been looking for to spend the rest of their life with. You can have this adventure during the entire month of June. HART is holding a special adoption event called “9 Lives for $9.” It means that for just $9 you can take home the love of your life. All of our cats are spayed or neutered. They are current on their vaccinations and even come with a carrier and free follow-up vet exam. This great opportunity is for all cats nine months or older.
  • Guardian Angels. What satisfaction! A cat is seriously ill. It may need surgery, an expensive test, expensive medicine or other life-saving treatment. Here is where you step in and provide the funds so that the animal has a chance at life. You can “give the gift of life” through HART’s Guardian Angel Fund. There is no greater joy then saving an animal’s life. One look at that grateful, loving face brings endless joy.
  • Fun with a senior kitty. Bond with a “Noble Companion,” a kitty that is looking for a place to rest its paws and relax. By adopting a senior cat, you are literally saving the cat’s life and your senior kitty will repay you with friendship, appreciation and love. Have fun with a laid-back senior kitty and lower your blood pressure. Ask about our “Noble Companion” program.
  • A blast from the past. Yes, there was a rocking good time at Wines, Pines & Felines II at Camp Ocean Pines last month. A sell-out crowd enjoyed the ocean view and camaraderie on a Sunday evening, along with fine wine, excellent food, live music and a lively auction. Thank you to all who participated in this special event. See you next year!
