SLO Transit offers riders special fare for anniversary

acornejo@thetribunenews.comMay 2, 2014

Bus riders can ride on SLO Transit buses for only a quarter each way from Monday through Friday next week. The 25-cent bus fare is the cheapest since 1974. It is in commemoration of the transit company’s 40th anniversary.

In addition, the city will celebrate SLO Transit’s anniversary Thursday with a recognition ceremony for past and present Mass Transit Committee members, council members and community members who have contributed to the success of the system. The event will be held at the Ludwick Community Center at 4 p.m.

SLO Transit will be introducing free Wi-Fi on two of its vehicles in May. The transit system operates eight routes and transports more than 1.1 million riders annually on its fleet of 16 vehicles.
