Arroyo Grande’s Jared Lintner finished the first day of the Toledo Bend Elite Series in Many, La., in the lead, turning in a 25-pound, 7-ounce total.

“I was planning on doing a lot of sight-fishing, but as it turned out all the good ones I found were gone,” Lintner told BassFan.com. “So I just went fishing in other areas where I had had a bite here or there and I just got really fortunate.”

Lintner entered the event second to only Mark Davis in the Toyota Tundra B.A.S.S. Angler of the Year standings. Davis is in 26th after the first day of competition with a catch of 17-14.

J. Todd Tucker is in second at 25-0.
