A ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Bob Jones City to the Sea Bike Trail connection to Los Osos Valley Road will be held at 10 a.m. Friday.

The gathering will be held at the informational kiosk, located on the trail, about 50 yards north of where Los Osos Valley Road meets the Highway 101 northbound ramps.

Attendees are encouraged to bike to the event; there is no public parking nearby.

The Bob Jones City to the Sea Bike Trail between Los Osos Valley Road and Prado Road in San Luis Obispo was completed in late March. The $846,000 project, which began in September, was mostly funded by federal and state transportation grants. A plan to add an additional segment of the Bob Jones trail at the city's southern edge near the Octagon Barn is being studied.
