Letter to the Editor

Kid Day was incredible

Camp Fire board memberApril 29, 2014

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the community for supporting Camp Fire’s Absolutely Incredible Kid Day on March 20 and helping us make it a wonderful success.

Thank you to Julie Tizzano, SLOCO Data; Alexis Barnard and parent volunteers of the Good Samaritan Shelter in Santa Maria for their support. Thank you also to the City Councils of Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach, Pismo Beach, San Luis Obispo, Lompoc, Santa Maria and the SLO Board of Supervisors for recognizing the significance of this national letter writing campaign, proclaiming March 20 as Absolutely Incredible Kid Day and encouraging adults in their respective cities to write to the special kids in their lives. These letters of love and support are a special way to honor those kids.

I would also like to thank all the vendors who participated in our Second Annual Suddenly Spring Craft Faire in Grover Beach on March 22. All proceeds from the fundraiser benefited Camp Fire’s club programs and summer camps. We are currently seeking donations to help fund our scholarship program for our summer residence camp in Paso Robles.
