The San Luis Obispo Soccer Club’s 15-and-under girls team defeated Santa Monica United 1-0 this past weekend in San Bernardino to win the President’s Division of the Cal South State Cup.

The Storm is comprised of players from San Luis Obispo High, Arroyo Grande, Mission Prep, Atascadero, Righetti, Morro Bay, Lompoc and Paso Robles.

Righetti’s Brooke Minetti scored the lone goal in the championship. The team amassed a record of 7-0-1 at the tournament, allowing just two goals over that span while scoring 13. Central defenders Rylie Johnson (San Luis Obispo High) and Theanna Longfellow (Arroyo Grande) were named Co-MVPs of the tourney.

The Storm will travel to Morgan Hill for the Far West Regionals on June 10-15, when it will face champions from Northern California, Nevada and Alaska in the opening rounds.
