The county has canceled plans to resurface Main Street in Cambria's West Village.

UPDATE (Tuesday, April 29) — Resurfacing of Main Street in Cambria's West Village has been canceled since more of the resurfacing material than expected was used in other areas of the county, the County Public Works department announced today.

ORIGINAL STORY — Resurfacing of Main Street in Cambria’s West Village is set for next week Thursday and Friday, May 1 and 2, the county Department of Public Works has announced.

Asphalt will be laid on Main Street from Cambria Drive to the north end of Cornwall Street. Rain could postpone the work.

Flaggers will control traffic while the work is done. Drying time varies from 2 to 4 hours.

Intermountain Slurry Seal of Sparks, Nev., has the $690,000 contract for 26 miles of work in the county. The company will also resurface roads in Avila Valley.

Call Scott Wetmore of Public Works at 781-5252 for details.
