North Coast mail carriers will help stamp out hunger again Saturday, May 10, when they collect non-perishable food people have set out in bags near mailboxes.
Donations include canned and dry (nonperishable) food packaged in cans, boxes and some bags. Among the most-needed items are canned meats and fish, soup, vegetables, bottled juice, pasta, cereal and rice. Carriers cannot accept outdated products or anything packed in glass containers.
It’s part of the 22nd annual National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive, the nation’s largest one-day food drive.
Food collected in Cambria is to be distributed locally through the Cambria Vineyard Church’s free food giveaway to the needy from noon to 2 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday each month at 1617 Main St. To contact Vineyard, call 927-5550.
