Cal Poly’s Reed Reilly was one of 50 relief pitchers in the country named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association’s midseason watch list for the Stopper of the Year award — given to the top reliever in Division I.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound junior has seven saves on the year to go along with a 2-1 record and 1.20 ERA. He’s struck out 39 batters in 30 innings and opponents are hitting .106 against him.
The Division I saves leader and four other relievers will be chosen as finalists June 4, and a winner will be announced during the College World Series.
