A live music event and a candlelight vigil will be held Thursday in San Luis Obispo to encourage awareness about sexual assault.
The event, Take Back the Night, is being organized by Cal Polys Sexual Assault Resource and Education Center.
The event, part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month activities, comes in the wake of multiple sexual assault attempts this year near the university.
Take Back the Night is an international movement for women and men alike to reclaim the night from violence and fear, according to event organizers. The gathering is free and open to the public.
