Central Coast Aquarium hosts Earth Day cleanup in Avila

The Central Coast Aquarium in Avila Beach will host its third annual marine cleanup Saturday, accompanied by an Earth Day festival.

The free event will feature a scuba dive cleanup off the Harford Pier as well as a beach, estuary and trail cleanup. In addition , six wildlife and educational organizations will hold a festival celebrating Earth Day.

Participants will receive a complimentary aquarium admission pass, valid for the day, as well as live music during their lunch break and child-friendly activities throughout the day.

Participants should meet in front of the Central Coast Aquarium at 10 a.m. Saturday; the event continues until noon. The aquarium will provide buckets, grabbers and gloves. No preregistration is required.
