Former Cal Poly center Molly Schlemer scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds in her NetScouts Basketball USA All-Stars Tour of China debut Monday in Shenzhen, China, as the U.S. handled New Zealand with ease, 98-45.

The 2013 Big West Player of the Year then turned in an eight-point, five-rebound performance in a 90-59 win over Denmark.

Schlemer and the U.S. will face host China on Wednesday.

Cal Poly women’s hoops signees honored

Cal Poly women’s basketball signees Geralynn and Geraldynn Leaupepe were named the Los Angeles Daily News’ All-Area Co-Players of the Year.

The twin 5-foot-9 guards led Camarillo High to its first-ever CIF-Southern Section Division 1A championship game this season.

Cal Poly volleyball adds Bailey Roach

The Cal Poly volleyball team announced the addition of Santa Barbara High graduate Bailey Roach to its roster, adding a defensive specialist to a Mustangs squad that returns eight letter winners from last year.

Roach was a three-year starter for the Dons, serving as captain her senior year. She is a two-time All-Santa Barbara County selection.

Mustangs assistant receives award

Cal Poly first-year women’s soccer assistant Lindsey Smith was named a Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table Co-Athlete of the Year after posting a 0.56 goals against average as a first-team All-American goalkeeper at NAIA program Westmont.
