Atascadero Police Department officials have confirmed the identities of two people arrested in connection with Thursday’s robbery of the Chase Bank on the 8000 block of El Camino Real.

George Jessie Gonzales, 55, of Santa Maria and Tonya Michelle Young, 33, whose city of residence was not available Friday evening, were arrested on suspicion of robbery and booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail.

Both remained in custody Friday night in lieu of $60,000 bail.

The robbery marked the third such heist in less than a month. On March 21, a Bank of America in Pismo Beach was robbed, and a Bank of America in Arroyo Grande was robbed April 3.

The FBI is involved in the Atascadero robbery investigation, and booking photos of Gonzales and Young have not been released. According to Atascadero police Sgt. Gregg Meyer, there was no indication as of Friday night that the robbery of Chase Bank was linked to the earlier South County robberies.
