Got votes? November still a long way off

Candidates for the June primary election are busy facing off in various debates and forums, but people in or interested in agency seats up for election Nov. 4 still have months to go before they have to decide if they’re going to run.

The nomination period for the November election opens July 14 and ends Aug. 8. If an eligible incumbent doesn’t run again, that deadline is extended to Aug. 13.

North Coast seats up for election in November include those currently held by:

• Cambria Community Services District Board of Directors: Board President Jim Bahringer and Director Mike Thompson. Both said April 14 that they haven’t yet made up their minds about being candidates again.

• San Simeon Community Services District Board of Directors: Chairman Ralph McAdams and Director Ken Patel. McAdams said April 15 that he doesn’t intend to run again.

• Coast Unified School District Board of Trustees: Board President Del Clegg and Board Clerk Dianne Brooke.

• Cambria Community Healthcare District Board of Trustees: Board President Bob Putney and trustees Frank Fratto and Mike McLaughlin.
