Dogs and bonnets at Cayucos Lioness’ Easter parade

The Cayucos Lioness’ Club will host its Easter Bonnet Dog Parade at noon Saturday beginning at Hardie Park. Dogs and their humans are encouraged to dress up and join the parade, and possibly win prizes. Entry fee is $8 to $10. Proceeds benefit the Mutt Mitt program. Celebrate dog park’s second anniversary

Hot Diggity Dog at Sherwood Dog Park from 10 a.m. to noon April 26 celebrates the dog park’s second anniversary. The event includes a chili cookoff, hot dog barbecue and hot dog toss contest for the dogs. Prizes will be awarded for Best in Show, People’s Choice and Best ‘Mixed Breed.’ Sherwood Dog Park is at 290 Scott St. in Paso Robles. All events are free. Wine tasting for Woods Humane

Wine 4 Paws, a fundraising event for Woods Humane Society, will be held at more than 75 participating wineries and olive oil companies throughout San Luis Obispo County. The event takes place April 26 and 27. During the weekend, the Wine 4 Paws wineries will donate a portion of their proceeds to Woods Humane Society. Horse adventures spring sessions

Adventures with Horses’ spring session is from 9:30 a.m. to noon on May 10. Children ages 5 to 12 are invited to meet, greet, groom and walk calm and gentle equines. Children and their parents will enjoy learning about basic equine manners, body language, safety skills and round-pen activities. Wear closed-toed shoes or boots.

Vehicle fee at El Chorro Dog Park

San Luis Obispo County Parks is collecting a $3 vehicle fee on Saturdays and Sundays, and holidays, through September at El Chorro Regional Park.

Dog park visitors who visit on the weekends will be required to pay this fee. Visitors are encouraged to purchase a $30 seasonal pass at the kiosk. El Chorro Dog Park volunteers receive a free volunteer pass. For more details, call 772-1971.

Parks4Pups holds student art contest

Parks4Pups is sponsoring a student art competition to paint a mural at the entrance to the Vineyard Dog Park. The competition is open to any student residing in the North County between the ages of 10 and 18. The winner of the contest will receive $300 cash, all expenses paid, community service hours and art instruction from a local professional artist who will supervise the project. Contest entries must be received by June 24 and the mural completed by Sept. 15. For details, call 239-4437.
