Prep Roundup: Hansen, Tigers roll to boys tennis win

Mason Hansen dominated from his No. 1 singles spot, winning all but one game in his three-set sweep to lead the San Luis Obispo High boys tennis team to a 13-5 win at San Marcos on Monday.

Hansen won his sets 6-0, 6-0, 6-1 for the Tigers (17-1), who are ranked fourth in the CIF-Southern Section Division 3 poll.

The doubles pairings of Josh Milla and Luke Olson, Noah Cleere and Alex Dill, and Scott Hicks and Adie Alwen each took two of three sets.

San Luis Obispo returns home to host Paso Robles on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.


Lompoc Invitational

Jack Avrit and Conner Sandman both shot 81 to lead a group of three Arroyo Grande golfers to a third-place finish at the par-72 La Purisma Golf Course. Tristan Bergmann-Lagano shot 85 to lead the second group of Eagles, which finished fourth.

Donnie Hedrick shot 86 for Atascadero.

Morro Bay 240, Mission Prep 257

Luca Bruno shot a 7-over 42 to lead the Pirates past the Royals in nine holes at the par-35 Morro Bay Golf Course.

Robert Ball carded a 45 and Matthew Abbatte shot a 47 to lead Mission Prep (1-6).

Rayce Francis shot a 48, and Garrett Holdstock, Noah Martinez and Tim Denham each recorded a 50 for Morro Bay.
