Talley Hill from Arroyo Grande High finished second in the girls mile in 5 minutes, 2 seconds at the Arcadia Invitational track and field meet Saturday, and two relay teams had record-breaking performances.
Hill, Crystal Aguirre, Elizabeth Heyde and Angie Gemignani broke a school record in the distance medley relay for the Eagles and placed sixth in 12 minutes, 15.23 seconds.
The Arroyo Grande distance boys medley relay, made up of Joey Rodgers, Christian Rickets, Nester Lucero and John Nichols, also broke a school record, placing sixth in 10:32.03.
San Luis Obispo’s William Ernst placed second overall for the boys mile race in a personal-best 4:18.
Jared Springer finished 11th in the boys shot put at 50 feet, 10 1⁄2 inches for Nipomo.

Blake Griffith from San Luis Obispo and Mitchel Snyder from Arroyo Grande High both posted CIF-Southern Section automatic qualifying scores at the boys competition hosted by the Tigers.
Griffith finished first with 408.65 points, and Snyder was second with 348.4.
Brandon Ley (285.70) from Atascadero was third, and Dylan Perry (284) was fourth out of 14 divers.
In the girls competition, two Morro Bay divers posted CIF-Southern Section automatic qualifying scores.
Emily Rohach finished first with 325.2 points, and Brooke Molnar was second with 314.3.
Jamie Stapf (309.15) from San Luis Obispo was third, and Lindsay Nichols from Arroyo Grande was fourth with 306.3 points.
Mission Prep’s Marina Florez (280.2) was sixth.
