The Arroyo Grande High boys volleyball team and the San Luis Obispo girls golf team were honored for their academic achievements Friday, when the two teams received CIF-Southern Section Academic awards.

The Eagles’ cumulative GPA of 3.74 ranked highest among boys volleyball teams at schools with 1,500 or more students. The Tigers combined for a GPA of 3.83, best among girls golf teams at schools of 1,499 students or less.

The two squads, along with the other 42 teams that received recognition, will be honored and awarded a banner during a ceremony prior to the Los Angeles Angels’ game against Cleveland on April 29 in Anaheim.
