Morro Bay National Estuary Program will host a State of the Bay presentation at the Morro Bay Community Center from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The free event will present information regarding the health of the Morro Bay estuary and watershed, including water quality, sedimentation, bird population and eelgrass monitoring. Information is based on the recent State of the Bay report, which assesses the health of Morro Bay via data collected over five years by Morro Bay National Estuary Program.

Presenters at the Bay Health and Sciences Presentations will include the program’s executive director Adrienne Harris, assistant director Lexie Bell and monitoring program manager Ann Kitajima. Guest speakers will be Dean Wendt, director of Cal Poly Center for Coastal Marine Sciences, and Ryan Hechinger, associate research biologist at University of California Santa Barbara’s Marine Science Institute. A question-and-answer session will be held from 3:15 to 4 p.m.
