The Killer Marshmallows, Cambria’s girls 14-and-under softball team, proved unstoppable in a pair of games Saturday, March 29, at Ikeda Field in Arroyo Grande.

Ani Corbet and Karina Mendoza shared pitching duties and credit for a no-hitter in a 15-1 win over a Five Cities team in the first game. Karina pitched the second game, notching an 11-1 win over another Five Cities team.

“We have 9 girls on the team, and everyone’s role is crucial for our success since there are no substitutions!” said coach Debbie Markham. “Everyone made great plays, ran speedily around to bases, and many successful bunts were made to advance runners across home plate.”
