Prep Roundup: Reagan’s offensive outburst leads Atascadero to softball win over Paso Robles

Ally Reagan was 4 for 4 with a pair of home runs and six RBI, including a grand slam, to lead the Atascadero High softball team past Paso Robles, 10-1, Tuesday at Atascadero.

Cheyenne Hufstetler also hit a home run and had three RBI for the Greyhounds (14-3-1, 2-0 PAC 7).

The Bearcats fell to 4-4 overall and 1-2 in league play.

Pioneer Valley 1, Arroyo Grande 0 

The Eagles (5-6, 1-2 PAC 7) gave up a run on a fielder’s choice in the second inning.

BASEBALL

Pioneer Valley 11, Atascadero 6

The Greyhounds trailed 6-5 before giving up five unearned runs in the sixth inning. 

Sam Neely was 2 for 3 with a double and a two-run homer for Atascadero (2-7, 0-4 PAC 7).

Dylan White and Tyler Moore also hit home runs for the Greyhounds.

Righetti 7, San Luis Obispo 2

Jeremy Jess and Thomas Orradre scored runs for the Tigers (1-5, 0-1 PAC 7). 

Valley Christian 10, Coastal Christ. 0, 5 innings

Mitchell Rey doubled and Brandon Spiller stole two bases for the Conquerors (0-2, 0-2 Coast Valley League). 

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Arroyo Grande 3, Paso Robles 0 

Keanu Morrison had nine kills and three aces, and Cameron Arnet had six kills and five aces as the Eagles won 25-6, 25-15, 25-10. 

Jack Empey had 30 assists, and Evan Lalanne had six kills for Arroyo Grande (11-6, 2-0 PAC 7). 

Riley Rookus had seven kills and one ace for the Bearcats (1-6).

San Luis Obispo 3, St. Joseph 1

John Duffy had 12 kills as the Tigers won 25-22, 25-18, 23-25, 25-23. 

Rennie Heza had 35 assists for San Luis Obispo (9-4, 1-1 PAC 7).

Templeton 3, Morro Bay 0

The Eagles swept the Pirates 25-8, 25-18, 25-18.

Santa Ynez 3, Nipomo 0

The Titans (0-7, 0-2 Los Padres League) lost 25-7, 25-11, 25-11 at home.

SWIMMING AND DIVING

Boys: Arroyo Grande 217, Paso Robles 92; Girls: Arroyo Grande 177, Paso Robles 137

Zach Stevens won the boys 200-yard freestyle in 1 minute, 47.33 seconds, the 500 freestyle in 4:53.24, and was on the winning 400 free relay (3:26.55) and the 200 medley relay (1:43.24) for the Eagles (6-0, 5-0 PAC 7). 

Charlie Watkins won the 100 backstroke (57.96) and was on the 200 medley relay, while David Malouf won the 200 individual medley (2:08.58) and the 100 butterfly (56.70) for Arroyo Grande.

Taylor Page won the 100 freestyle (49.29) for Paso Robles (5-2, 2-2).

Sarah Parson won the girls 200 freestyle (2:01.87) and 500 freestyle (5:30.05) for the Eagles (5-1, 4-1). 

Hannah Parson won the 100 freestyle (56.46), and Corryn Haynes won the 100 butterfly (1:02.43) and the 100 backstroke (1:02.8). The two Parsons and Haynes were on the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:46.96) and 400 freestyle relay (3:52.67). Paige Leonard won the 200 individual medley (2:23.84) and was on the winning 400 freestyle relay.

Kasey Moffitt won the girls 50 freestyle (26.35) for Paso Robles (5-2, 3-1) and was on the winning 200 medley relay (2:04.64).

Boys: Morro Bay 85, Templeton 50; Girls: Templeton 109, Morro Bay 59

Travis Chirman led the Pirates, winning the boys 200-yard freestyle in 2:00.41 and the 500 freestyle (5:47.28). 

Morro Bay’s (4-1, 4-0 LPL) Jack Krull won the 100 breaststroke (1:11.21).

Templeton’s Will Mehring won the 50 freestyle (23.9), and teammate Ethan Lacaro won the 100 backstroke (1:04.04)

On the girls side, the Eagles won all but two events, led by Megan Miller winning the 50 freestyle (26.4), the 100 backstroke (1:07.1) and being on the winning 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays. Ande Miller won the 100 freestyle (57.99), the 200 freestyle (2:07.90) and was on the 200 freestyle relay that won in 1:50.40. 

For Morro Bay (3-2, 3-1), Katie White won the 100 butterfly (1:04.3), and Alissa Marvin won the 200 individual medley (2:24.14).

BOYS GOLF

Cabrillo 217, Morro Bay 280

Luca Bruno led the Pirates (5-13, 3-12 LPL), shooting a 6-over 42 at Vandenburg Village for nine holes. 

The individual medalist was Thomas Requejo of Cabrillo, who shot 38.

POSTPONEMENTS

The following baseball games were postponed Tuesday because of inclement weather: Lompoc at Morro Bay and St. Joseph at Paso Robles. 

Paso Robles’ game was rescheduled for Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Morro Bay’s game was rescheduled for Monday at 4 p.m. 

The following softball games were postponed: Lompoc at Morro Bay and Orcutt Academy at Coast Union. Coast Union’s game was rescheduled for Friday at 3:30 p.m. Morro Bay’s game was rescheduled for Monday at 4 p.m.

The following boys tennis matches were postponed: St. Joseph at San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande at Paso Robles. San Luis Obispo’s match was rescheduled for today at 3:30 p.m. 

The Arroyo Grande vs. Paso Robles match was rescheduled for Monday at 3:30 p.m.
