Morro Bay’s 50th Anniversary Committee is seeking a local artist to paint a four-foot long fiberglass boat with a festive design.

The city is celebrating its 50th year of incorporation this year.

A stipend of $1,000 will be given to the artist selected to decorate the boat with latex acrylic paints to help it withstand outdoor weather.

A deadline of May 1 has been set for artists to apply. This year’s celebration theme is “Landmark and Legacy.”

For project details and application information, call the Morro Bay Chamber of Commerce at 772-4467 or download an application at http://morrobay50th.com/resources/Artist%20RFP.pdf.
