Girls basketball Kiwanis all-stars selected

Kiwanis All-Star Basketball Spectacular set for April 5 at Allan Hancock College

The Kiwanis All-Star Basketball Spectacular on April 5 at Allan Hancock College announced its girls rosters, and the North All-Stars are loaded with Templeton High green.

Los Padres League champions Marissa Torres, Megan Hattar, Autumn Russell, Paige O’Sullivan and Mari Stewart all were named All-Stars for the Eagles. Nikki Machado and Sierra Schwellenbach from Morro Bay, Melody Ayers from Atascadero, Jessica Judge from San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles’ Kailey Warren rounded out the North roster, which is comprised of standout seniors from San Luis Obispo County.

The team will be coached by Templeton’s Shawn Koehler.

The South All-Stars — players selected from northern Santa Barbara County — are led by four members from PAC 7 champion Pioneer Valley: Victoria Becerra, Leanna Araujo, Stella Dulay and Shynia Tell.

The remaining South players are: Valley Christian’s Catilina Paniagua and Ellie Hedlund, St. Joseph’s JJ Carlotti and Kaitlyn Flowers, Lompoc’s Precilla Castellanos, Righetti’s Whitney Houg and Cabrillo’s Chelsea Kelley.

The team will be coached by Pioneer Valley’s Brandi Carney.

The boys all-star rosters will be released today.
