Paso Robles will get San Luis Obispo County’s third Chipotle Mexican Grill this summer when the restaurant opens in the Walmart center.

The chain restaurant, which operates about 1,500 stores worldwide, recently posted signs at 98 Niblick Road in the Woodland Plaza II shopping center announcing the new establishment.

It will take over the former location of Chino's Rock and Tacos, located next to Jamba Juice, broker Keith Gillis confirmed Wednesday. Gillis, of Prime Commercial California, represents Woodland Plaza owner Richard Woodland.

Construction is underway, including expanding the space, Gillis said. The store is expected to open between mid-May and mid-July.

Gillis declined to disclose the length of the lease or the rent for the space, though on the Prime Commercial California website, rent for Woodland Plaza II spaces starts at $1.90 per square foot.

The Woodland Plaza location will be the third Chipotle in the county; the first opened in downtown San Luis Obispo in March 2010, and the second opened at the Madonna Plaza in San Luis Obispo in January 2012.
