A new app for smartphones details events in San Luis Obispo ranging from story time at the library to hikes and plays.

The free SLO Happenings mobile app, funded by the city of San Luis Obispo’s Promotional Coordinating Committee, provides a list of San Luis Obispo events and activities broken into five categories: Arts and Culture, Food and Wine, Social and Recreation, Ongoing Events and Happening this Week.

The app, developed by public relations firm Verdin in partnership with GFL Systems, is available for Android and iOS mobile devices, including tablets.

“We set out to create a place where people could see what was happening in SLO,” said Lee Johnson, economic development manager. “We ended up with a great app that allows people to see, search, share and submit events all from their mobile devices.”

SLO Happenings is available in the Apple App and Google Play stores.
