Public safety expo Saturday in SLO

Several San Luis Obispo businesses will host the 2014 Preparedness Expo on Saturday to help local families and individuals better prepare for an emergency.

The free event will feature CPR and first-aid demonstrations, fire trucks and police cruisers, free child identification cards, martial arts demonstrations and a bounce house. Gift bags also will be available to the first 200 visitors.

Sponsors include El Dorado Broadcasters, PG&E, the American Red Cross, Southern California Gas Co., Tacti-Cool Guns & Gear, Sentinel Security Solutions, KSBY, EECU Credit Union, Farm Supply Co. and Renew Restoration.

The event will be at 10 a.m. in the San Luis Obispo Veterans Memorial Building at 801 Grand Ave.
