Juvenile detained after school receives threatening phone message

A juvenile is in custody Friday afternoon after a threat was left on an answering machine at Creston Elementary School.

According to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office, at approximately 7:56 a.m., Creston Elementary School administration received a message allegedly containing a threat left on the school answering machine.

Authorities were notified, and Sheriff's Office officials responded to the campus and surrounding area.

Investigating officers determined that the threat was generalized and not directed toward any specific individual. Detectives were able to identify the person who made the phone call, and a juvenile was detained and turned over to the San Luis Obispo County Juvenile Services Division.

No one was injured in the incident.
