Quake workshops set for next week in SLO

March 20, 2014

PG&E will hold a three-day public workshop Tuesday through next Thursday in San Luis Obispo featuring earthquake experts who are looking at the seismic dangers that Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant faces.

The workshop is the last of three the utility is sponsoring for a group called the Senior Seismic Hazard Analysis Committee, which is studying the potential for earthquakes, both onshore and offshore, in the area surrounding Diablo Canyon.

The workshop will be at Embassy Suites Hotel, 333 Madonna Road. Technical discussions will be from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day. A question-andanswer period will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
