The San Luis Obispo Downtown Association recently honored two dozen businesses at its 25th annual Beautification Awards Breakfast.

The awards are given to those businesses that made physical or aesthetic improvements toward keeping downtown beautiful last year, according to a news release. Categories included tenant improvements, maintenance, merchandising and several special awards.

Top honors included the Mayor’s Award given to Marsh Street Commons — The Residences, the Chairperson’s Award given to the city of San Luis Obispo for its repairs to the Warden Bridge, and the Executive Director’s Award given to San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce for its new offices and visitor center.
