Nipomo attorney Jacqueline Frederick has been named San Luis Obispo County’s 2014 Outstanding Woman Lawyer of the Year by the Women Lawyers Association of San Luis Obispo County.

The group first recognized local female lawyers who promote the advancement of women within San Luis Obispo County last year, according to a news release. Last year’s winner was Angie King.

Frederick was presented with the award during Women’s History Month for more than 22 years of practicing civil law in Nipomo, including handling important pro bono cases and serving on various boards. She chairs the Real Property Law section of the San Luis Obispo County Bar Association and is a member of the Bench-Bar Coalition, among other legal associations.

Her philanthropic activities include serving as a vice chair of the Marian/Arroyo Grande Hospital Community Board, a board member of the Women’s Shelter Program of San Luis Obispo and chair of the Latino Outreach Council.
