A 20-year-old Pismo Beach man was arrested and taken to County Jail after allegedly stealing a golf cart, hitting a parked car and then fleeing on Friday afternoon, authorities said.

Jacob Rouch was being held on $150,000 bail on suspicion of felony DUI, felony hit and run, and grand theft auto, according to the jail website.

Officers responded about 4:52 p.m. Friday to a call about a golf cart stolen from an apartment complex that hit a parked car at Bond and Hathway Streets in northern San Luis Obispo, San Luis Obispo Police Sgt. Jeff Booth said.

The suspect left the scene and an injured passenger in the cart. The passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police got the phone number of the suspect, who responded with a statement to the investigating officer and then took him into custody, Booth said.
