Authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a tent near the mouth of Pico Creek in San Simeon.

Early Thursday evening, sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a body of a white adult male who appeared to be in his mid- to late-50s, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.

Officials have not released the identity of the man, nor have they determined how long the man has been dead. However, no foul play is suspected.

Sheriff’s officials are continuing the investigation.
