Grover Beach wants input on housing

March 13, 2014

The city of Grover Beach will hold a workshop at 6 p.m. Wednesday to gather input as officials prepare to update policies and goals to address housing issues.

The workshop will be held in the City Council chambers.

Officials will use comments from the workshop as they update Grover Beach’s housing element, one part of the city’s general plan. The housing portion must be updated by June 30.

Goals in the city’s current housing document include providing a variety of housing choices to meet residents’ needs; providing incentives to develop lowincome housing; and encouraging “special needs housing to meet the needs of senior citizens, large families, single parents, the disabled and the homeless.”

The current housing element can be viewed at http://www.grover.org/DocumentCenter/Home/View/51.

Written comments can be emailed to planner Janet Reese at jreese@grover.org or mailed to the Grover Beach Community Development Department, 154 S. Eighth St., Grover Beach, CA 93433. Call 473-4520 for information.
