Paso Robles celebrated 125 years of history Tuesday with a “Happy Birthday Paso Robles” event in the downtown City Park.

The event featured a stagecoach carrying both the Paso Robles and San Miguel postmasters as well as a letter postmarked March 11, 2014, that was put into a time capsule along with several other items. Attendees also enjoyed a school parade and commemorative program featuring civic leaders and the raising of the new city flag.

The Paso Robles Culinary Arts Academy provided 1,000 cupcakes, and Pithy Little Soda Works created a special ginger ale for the occasion.

The Paso Robles 125th Anniversary Committee will hold several more anniversary events this year, including a Fourth of July event, a family-fun day on Pioneer Day and fireworks show Dec. 31.
