Blame city officials

San Luis ObispoMarch 11, 2014

Truth be told, Carroll McKibbin (Letters, March 9), the city of San Luis Obispo broke the law, plain and simple. If you are going to be outraged by this ruling, then that rage needs to be directed at the people who caused the situation — your city government officials — not Administrative Law Judge Valerie Pike Racho.

City officials blatantly disregarded a standing labor law before putting binding arbitration to a vote. They were warned they were in violation of the law, and they chose to go forward at taxpayer expense. Fortunately, no matter where you live, in SLO or Sacramento, you need to follow the law. Please hold city officials accountable, for the blame falls right at their feet.
