Forced leave blunder

Los OsosMarch 9, 2014

It was with much surprise that I read about the leave of absence forced upon Nick Franco, State Parks district superintendent.

I have worked with Nick in previous years on several state park issues that pertain to Montaña De Oro State Park. Nick has been such a breath of fresh air since he came on board. He never stiff-arms park user groups and was open to hearing grievances, requests, suggestions, etc., at all times. And Nick has built such a great partnership between employees and park volunteers, making for improved facilities, trails and visitor experiences.

Whoever mandated this punishment should walk the plank.
