Windy but otherwise mild weather is forecast for San Luis Obispo County this weekend.

The winds will range from 8 to 18 mph during the night and morning hours, followed by 25 to 38 mph northwesterly winds in the afternoon, according to PG&E meteorologist John Lindsey.

The strongest winds are expected to occur along Highway 41 from Morro Bay High School heading toward Atascadero, about halfway up the grade, Lindsey said. The coastal canyons and parts of eastern San Luis Obispo, including Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo High School and French Hospital, will also experience gusty winds.

Mostly clear skies and warm weather is expected through Sunday afternoon, Lindsey said, with high temperatures reaching the mid- to high-70s and maybe the low 80s.

A weak cold front should produce increasing clouds, fog and areas of drizzle Sunday night into Monday, Lindsey said. Wind and partly-cloudy skies will follow. High temperatures should be in the 70s most of next week.
